We had to put the esky in the fridge to defrost.
Yep, you heard that right. It was an icy start one morning in the beautiful town of Tumbarumba.
We slowly started to make our way out to the ute and prepare for the day. As we approached the tray we could feel the ice cold chill in the air. To say that two Brisbane boys from sunny QLD and - Pete who confidently walked out in thongs to put his safety boots on, were surprised to find what was next would be an understatement.
EVERYTHING FROZEN.
Once we DEFROSTED ourselves and the gear.
We made our way into the town from our wonderful AirBnB "Tumba Cottages" to the Tumbarumba Bakery for some fresh sandwiches and a coffee. Then we made our way to Clear Springs Rd, off Jingellic Rd to start building a bridge for the Hume and Hovell track.
After a hard days work we headed back into the town of Tumbarumba for a welcomed beer and feed from the local pub - "Tumbarumba Hotel". Lucky for us we stumbled across the local trivia night. After Matt stole the show at trivia we returned back to our Air BnB for a well deserved rest ready to go again tomorrow.
Our favorite part of building bridges is the interaction we get to have with the community whilst we are there. We love seeing new places and being a small family owned business we feel a connection to supporting the locals where can.
So, if you ever find yourself in the town of Jingellic, Tumbarumba or walking the Hume and Hovell Trail be sure to stop in and show some love to the local community.
